Why does an article called 8B6B talk about the 8B10B encoding? And why the article not link to the 8B10B article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8B10B)?

"8B/6B encoding" seems physically impossible -- there's no way to map 8 bits to 6 bits without losing (at least) 2 bits of information. I suspect this is either a typo ( 8b16b encoding ? ), or, more likely, someone misunderstood a description of a *decoder* for 6b/8b encoding -- . You could make a request to move it to a more correct title, or propose it for deletion (which is less useful IMO, because someone will have to write 6b/8b from scratch if this gets trashed). Kimchi.sg 19:13, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
