The Wisigoths did not leave Gaul until Clovis conquered Bordeaux over them in 498, then defeated them in the battle of Vouillé (507), where Alaric II, their king, was killed. They were finally depelled from Toulouse in 508. In the meantime, their kingdom extended on both sides of the Pyrenaei.
