2C as a classification

[edit]

Murple here... I'm not sure how I feel about this article in general. It seems to lump non-amphetamine phenethylamines together, but only those with 2C- in their name. Some other 2 carbon phenethylamines, such as mescaline, are not generally referred to by a 2C-* name. This seems to me to be a somewhat misleading article, and I'm not sure if it should even exist. Thoughts? Murple (talk) 07:37, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Anyone else having this problem? I don't think we need to see every molecule rotating in 3D on the main 2C page like this. Oddity- (talk) 13:33, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

N-hydroxy's

[edit]

I was going to delete the HOT compounds when I saw them in the table, but I saw that:

a few of the 2C's posess a hydroxy group on the nitrogen

was added to the article, so I decided to talk about it on here to stop a revert war.

Did Shulgin ever name any of the N-hydroxy compounds as 2C-x? If not then I don't believe they should be in this article (besides they are unstable and usually decompose from R-NH-OH to R-NH2, so they are practically the same as the primary amine counterparts). --Mark PEA 12:03, 4 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Images

[edit]

Whilst looking at this list/article I noticed several images that were displayed in the older GIF/PNG formats compared to the newer SVG formats that are designed with transpant backgrounds, allow scalability and have cleaner/neater lines that don't show anti-aliasing as much.

Since I'm no expert in this type of stuff I thought i would leave a note here and let someone else decide/do it. Peachey88 (Talk Page · Contribs)

Structure problems

[edit]

The formula for 2C-T-9 does not agree with the structure (t-Bu vs. n-Bu). In 2C-F the F atom is yellow but in 2C-TFM the F atoms are blue.
