Qualification

[edit]

I would be quite interested in seeing the "qualification reason" for each player - which is not always trivial.

For example, Michael Georgiou is in by virtue of winning the 2018 shoot-out in February - but his qualification was not confirmed until August. Presumably when Mark Williams won the World Open (and had already qualified and as such bumped the 2018 shoot-out up the priority).

Would it be OR to include that info, or can it be considered to be directly derived from the rules which are referenced? Richjhart (talk) 10:02, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Its rather like when Steve Davis Qualified by virtue of winning the World Seniors, in a season where Ding won everything in sight. There's a hierarchy to the season's events and should a player have won all the ranking events etc, the barrel would have to be scraped for Ken Doherty as the "UK World Seniors" Champion.

Also wonder why Mark Williams is seeded third? despite being world champion while Selby is number 2? presume that's because he's "World Number 1" in the rankings?  Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.203.254.2 (talk) 13:21, 7 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
