• Hello, and thank you for your review! Regarding the hook - the reason I had thought it could be interesting was because it was the 1870s, so near-unanimous support for something like this sounds very interesting. An alternative could be:
  • ALT1: ... that in 1876, all Republican politicians in Connecticut supported removing the requirement of being white to vote except for one, while all Democrats opposed it?

• @Maximilian775: Hello again! I just released I made a bit of a mistake. I'm not quite sure how I overlooked this, but for the vote, I had been looking at the legislature's ratification of the federal amendment, not the ballot measure being added to the ballot. So, scrap that question. My new proposed question:
  • ALT2: ... that in 1876, the sole two towns to oppose amending Connecticut's Constitution to repeal the requirement of being white to vote had more than 70% vote for the Democratic presidential candidate?

ALT2 is not included in the article and it gets very close to synth. ALT1 is also not included in the article ("politicians", and also whatever happened to those legislators who abstained). ALT0 is included in the article, and frankly I find it more interesting than the other two, so I'm approving that one and that one alone. 1brianm7 (talk) 13:05, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
