I don’t understand “recently-departed band's success”. The band were still together (for another year), no one died. Is “recently-departed” referring to the band or their success? Is it coz they went on tour? If so: perhaps “capitalising on the band's success while they were recently-departed on tour” is better. Must mean “recently-departed” from the label (and Jonathon King)
