Shawn Rashid (born October 5, 1995)[1] is an American-Pakistani racing driver who currently competes in the Le Mans Cup with Inter Europol Competition and the European Endurance Prototype Cup for Lamo Racing.
Personal life
[edit]Rashid is of Pakistani and American descent.[2]
Rashid is managed by BTCC race winner Rory Butcher.[3]
Career
[edit]Single-seater racing (2023–2025)
[edit]After contesting in various British series such as the Formula Ford 1600 and the Walter Hayes Trophy, Rashid made the step up to the GB3 Championship in 2023, competing with Douglas Motorsport.[4] Despite missing the season finale at Donington Park, Rashid finished 28th, last of the full-time drivers, with 28 points. He scored a best result of P6, achieved at Race 3 at Circuit Zandvoort.
For 2024, Rashid moved to VRD Racing by Arden to go for a second GB3 Championship campaign. Alongside fellow Americans Nikita Johnson and Noah Ping, Rashid would be the worst of the trio, with 1 podium finish at Silverstone Circuit. He would place 17th in the championship, with 125 points throughout. Rashid also branched out to race in America also, racing in the USF Pro 2000 Championship on a part-time basis, also with Velocity Racing Development. Rashid scored a best result of 13th, with being overall 27th in the standings scoring 19 points.
Rashid moved over to Euroformula Open Championship in 2025, competing with sportscar team Nielsen Racing.[5] He failed to score any podiums throughout the camaign, placing 10th in the championship.
During 2025, Rashid tested for Campos Racing in hopes of a possible FIA Formula 2 drive. However, this didn't materialise.[3]
Endurance switch (2025–2026)
[edit]Rashid debuted in the Le Mans Cup in 2025, driving for Inter Europol Competition in the LMP3 Pro/Am class.[6]
For 2026, Rashid stayed put in the LMP3 Pro/Am class of the Le Mans Cup with Inter Europol Competition.[7]
