Shaaw
Shaw (also spelled Sciao, Sciào, or Shawo) is a settlement in Hiiraan, Somalia, associated with Jalalaqsi District. It is located in the western part of Hiiraan, about 40 km west of Jalalaqsi, and is documented in humanitarian and geographical sources as a locality associated with a local water source, including a shallow well. The spelling Sciao appears in geographical and mapping records, while Sciào and Shawo occur as variant forms in geographical databases. [1][2][3] The name Shaw Caano appears in some modern online geographical records, but no sufficiently reliable independent source establishes it as an official or historically established alternative name. The origin and etymology of the names Shaw, Sciao, Sciào, and Shawo have not been established in reliable published sources.
