Early life and modeling career

[edit]

Njie was born January 3rd, 2003 and is from Atlanta, Georgia, and is of Gambian, Senegalese, and Moroccan heritage.[5] After high school, Njie enrolled in Georgia State University and worked a part-time job at a high-end retail store in Buckhead.[6][4]

Career

[edit]

Njie's career began in 2023, after he moved in with American rapper and fellow affiliate Tezzus.[10] After moving in, he began releasing music but wouldn't find success until 2025, following the release of his track "Hedi's Bussin'".[5][11] He later gained more attention online following the release of "Havana" entering 2026 on New Year's Day.[11] On April 17, 2026, Njie was featured on Tezzus & Diamond's collaborative mixtape, UY Scuti Bøyz, where he was featured on the track "Head Øver Heels", with Diamond*.[12] Two months later, on June 18, 2026, Njie released B4NTB, which serves as a prelude to his debut EP, No Turning Back.[13][14] On June 20, he released No Turning Back.[15] On July 8, 2026, Njie was featured on Diamond*'s surprise released mixtape, Bling Slime Vøl 1, where he appeared on the track "HEDIS N PELLES".[16] On July 10, 2026, it was announced that Njie would be opening for Yeat during his Love/Lyfe tour in support of his sixth studio album, ADL.[17] On August 28, 2026, Njie was featured on YSL Records' Slime Language 3.[18][4]

Musical style and artistry

[edit]

Njie's flow has been described as ambient,[11] chill, and laid-back, with Vivian Medithi of The Fader labeling his flows as delicate and intricate.[1] Medithi also labeled how poised Njie can be across "woozy instrumentals".[11] Alphonse Pierre of Pitchfork labeled how Njie shares similar aspects to that of A$ap Rocky, both musically, and in modeling. He labeled him as the "obvious heir of the model rap crown".[7] Alexander Cole of HotNewHipHop wrote how Njie's B4NTB features some flows which are reminiscent of those of Young Thug.[13]

Reception

[edit]

Njie's music has generated positive reviews, and he's received cosigns from Playboi Carti,[5][19] Hedi Slimane, Chxrry,[11] Effa Fouda,[20] and Kuru, who even labeled Njie's song "Havana", as his song of the summer, with Vivian Medithi of The Fader feeling the same way.[11] Pz's project, No Turning Back, was rated a 7.6 out of 10 by Pitchfork, with writer Dylan Green writing how polished and assured the project is.[21]
