Patten, Georgia

Patten is an unincorporated community in Thomas County, in the U.S. state of Georgia.[1]

History

[edit]

A post office called Patten was established in 1884, and remained in operation until 1907.[2] It is unknown why the name "Patten" was applied to this place.[3]

The Georgia General Assembly incorporated Patten as a town in 1907; the town's municipal charter was repealed in 1912.[4]
