How to delete another language account that was automatically created
[edit]Wikipedia now insists that users stay logged in. As a result, every visit to a different language wikipedia results in creating a new user page and sub-account in a new language. How to delete such an account? I do not even speak that language and can't read it (it's in Arabic) Morycm (talk) 19:27, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

- Dunno if you've experienced it, but if I go to another Wikimedia wiki for the first time, I'm not logged in and seconds later a notification appears on the top right corner saying "You are centrally logged in as HKLionel. Reload to apply your settings." or something of the sort, and I'm pretty sure if I go to another page in the same wiki I'm automatically logged in. This may be what Morycm's referring to. - You cannot have two identities at the same time using the same device and browser - you can't edit, say, the Danish Wikipedia using your registered account name at the same time you want to edit, say, the French Wikipedia "anonymously" (=using a temporary account). You can, however, use a different browser (or device) to make unregistered edits (using a temporary account) while remaining logged into your registered account in your main browser (or on your main device). If you perceive this as a change, my guess it has to do with the semi-recent introduction of temporary accounts, and specifically how it sets a cookie in your browser to track your contributions.
