Heather Shaw (born March 20, 1988) is an American stand-up comedian and podcaster. She first gained mainstream public attention through her social media posts as media outlets like the New York Post and Orlando Weekly noted her physical resemblance to Jim Carrey.[1][2] She released her first comedy special Alright, See Ya! (2026) and hosts the weekly podcast Heather Shaw is Kidding.[3]

Shaw's comedy combines rapid-fire pop culture references with high-energy and often queer-focused humor, shifting focus away from the physical impressions that initially garnered online notoriety.[1][2] She has appeared on shows including The Today Show and The Tamron Hall Show.[2][3]

Early life and career

[edit]

Shaw was born in Rochester, New York, and spent part of her childhood in Florida. She began performing stand-up comedy around age 25 in Orlando, Florida, where she developed her early material at regional venues such as the Bull & Bush and participated in open-mic showcases hosted by comedian Preacher Lawson.[1] During the COVID-19 pandemic, Shaw began posting sketch and commentary comedy videos on TikTok, her sketches frequently presenting herself as the illegitimate daughter of Jim Carrey.[4][5] The videos garnered viral media coverage, eventually expanding her social media presence to over 2.8 million followers on TikTok and nearly one million followers on Instagram.[3][6]

Personal life

[edit]

Shaw is openly lesbian.[6][7] She lives in the United States and frequently incorporates personal stories into her comedy and interviews, including tales about her relationships and life as a touring comedian.[7] On December 31, 2025, she married Kentucky attorney Lilly Jean Coiner in a New Year's Eve ceremony in Louisville, Kentucky.[6]
