Good Afternoon. No payment for this article creation was sent or received. I am friends with the Individual this Article is about though.

I tried to format it as much as possible to be similar to the other candidate in the Maryland comptroller election https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Brooke_Lierman&action=edit. I see that someone flagged this article as "Promotional Content" though. If you highlight any specific sections that you think need revision, I can tweak them to make them seem more unbiased.

If any other tweaks are needed to bring this article into alignment with Wikipedia's best practices, let me know. Jojojay.martin (talk) 18:27, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for clarifying your relationship with Dunn; I have accordingly adjusted the tags on the article.
Dunn is currently not notable enough to have her own Wikipedia article. As it stands, most of the citations on the article are about her candidacy for Comptroller of Maryland, and as such most of the articles are from news websites local to Maryland. Those articles aside, many of the other citations on the article are from press releases or Dunn's own personal website, or mention Dunn in passing and not as the primary subject of the article. Per WP:PRSOURCE and WP:Notability, these kinds of sources are unreliable and do not contribute toward an article subject's notability. Y2hyaXM (talk) 18:33, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
I understand the concern about relying too heavily on campaign coverage, but I think Dunn has enough activity and coverage outside of political activities to warrant an article. I do want to clarify that several of the sources in the draft predate the 2026 campaign and concern Dunn’s media career rather than her candidacy.
In particular, the District of Columbia Office of Motion Picture and Television Development published a substantive profile of Dunn in 2015 discussing her film work, festival selections, production company, and role with Arlington Independent Media. Women in Film & Video DC also covered her media work in 2015 and again in 2020, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences independently lists her among its 2020 invitees to the Short Films and Feature Animation branch.
I agree that some other citations are weaker or first-party sources, and I can reduce reliance on those. I would think that the combination of her pre-2026 media career, her business interactions, and her business activities, and her political career combined would make here notable enough. Would you consider the 2015 D.C. film-office profile and the WIFV coverage significant enough if the article were changed to focus more on those sources, and some of the political sections were removed? Of the three sources you listed there, only one would be considered notable (the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences). Per WP:NACTOR, a media personality/actor would only be considered notable if they had significant roles in multiple notable films, notable television shows, stage performances, or other notable productions. The film productions you list on this page do not seem notable, so I would not consider notable through this route either. Y2hyaXM (talk) 20:05, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
