Peter Mallouk is pretty notable, one of the 200 richest americans

[edit]

@Sulfurboy he's one of the 200 richest americans. Owns a pretty big sports club in Kansas, and a $700B investment bank. If this guy doesn't pass criteria for knowability, this platform TRULY has a problem for its notability criteria, artificially passing university admins, and blocking truly known people. Links were provided to you about our notability guidelines. Nothing you named qualifies as one of them. I would recommend reading up on our "knowability" policies. Directing your anger at me when I had nothing to do with the writing of them is wild. Sulfurboy (talk) 02:36, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Issue is not the criteria. Criteria makes sense. I did however satisfy. For example, this link fulfills all 3 notability criteria https://www.wealthmanagement.com/ria-news/creative-planning-s-peter-mallouk-builds-11b-fortune-on-goldman-tpg-deals. It's a credit major source, it's not connected to the subject, and the article is strictly about him.
Wealth management is owned by Informa, a publicly listed UK company with 14,000 employees and $5.3B in revenue, and the article was re-shared by bloomberg news here https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-01-30/wealth-adviser-builds-11-billion-fortune-on-goldman-tpg-deals Madhatter1986 (talk) 22:55, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Not wholly independent of the subject, basic WP:CHURNALISM Sulfurboy (talk) 01:28, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
1. This is not churnalism or press release, it's the man's story https://www.wealthmanagement.com/ria-news/creative-planning-s-peter-mallouk-builds-11b-fortune-on-goldman-tpg-deals
2. Are you telling me that oscure profiles like the ones linked below fit the policy, but the 190th richest American with on one of the biggest investment banks in the south, doesn't?

Wikipedia is far too biased and lax with academics, artists and politicians etc, and unusually stringest with incredibly successful business builders.
If the same yardstick is not applied to all profiles, then the yardstick is being misused. Madhatter1986 (talk) 17:04, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Regarding those other articles, Madhatter1986, it would be worth reading WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Most of them don't appear to have gone through the review process - indeed some of them pre-date it - and just because an article exists, doesn't meant that the subject has been accepted as notable. With more than seven million articles, there are always likely to be some that don't come up to Wikipedia's standards; these are liable to be nominated for deletion but they can languish unnoticed for years. If you believe that any of the subjects of those four articles aren't notable, please consider nominating them for deletion. Cordless Larry (talk) 17:22, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
