Wendy Xu is an American graphic novelist. Her works include the graphic novels Mooncakes, Tidesong, and The Infinity Particle.

Career

[edit]

Xu's debut graphic novel, Mooncakes, was published in 2019.[1] It was written by Suzanne Walker.[2] It follows two Chinese-American childhood friends, bisexual hearing aid-using witch Nova and genderqueer werewolf Tam, who reunite as adults as Tam is being hunted down by a mysterious demonic horse.[2][3][4][5] It originated as a planned segment of an anthology, and in 2015 became a webcomic.[6][7] Xu redraw the comic's artwork for the print release.[6][7]

Her first graphic novel as a single creator, Tidesong, was published in 2021. It follows a young witch-in-training who befriends a water dragon.[8][9][10]

In 2023, she published the graphic novel The Infinity Particle, about a human woman undertaking an engineering apprenticeship on Mars who falls in love with her boss' robotic assistant.[11][12][13]
