Upper Middle Road is a west-east arterial road located in Halton Region. The road starts in Winston Churchill Boulevard and ends west of Brant Street at Havendale Boulevard. A part of the road is not connected with each other because of the Bronte Creek Provincial Park.

History
[edit]Upper Middle Road was named that because surveyors said that the road was between Dundas Street and Lake Ontario.[1]
After two roads were surveyed, two more roads were followed, being both Upper Middle and Lower Middle.[2] In 1810, a mill was built by Phillip Triller near Upper Middle Road in Trafalgar Township. The mill lasted for 20 years.[3]
Route Description
[edit]The road starts in Winston Churchill Boulevard in Oakville and then curves down towards the Queen Elizabeth Way, later on interchanging with the Highway 403 when the road curves down. After that, the road passes the Iroquois Shoreline Woods Park and later on passing the neighbourhoods of Joshua Creek and Falgarwood.
Then, the road passes Trafalgar Road and then has a bridge with the Sixteen Mile Creek, later passing the Glen Abbey Golf Course. Then after 4 kilometres, the road stops at the area of the Bronte Creek Provincial Park, west of Bronte Road.
In Burlington, the road is continued from Burloak Drive after a westward curve. After 6 kilometres passing Appleby and Walkers, Halton RR38 stops and continues as the road, unsigned. After Guelph, the road curves north for the 407 ETR and then back south, then passing Brant Road and later on ending.
Public Transport
[edit]Upper Middle Road is served by Oakville Transit as Line 6 and Burlington Transit as Line 12, both having Upper Middle as the names of the lines.
In Oakville, the line starts in Laird and Ridgeway station and ends at the Bronte GO Station. Its only major stop is near the Oakville campus of Sheridan College. In Burlington, the line starts at the Burlington GO Station and ends at a SmartCentres south of the Highway 407, which the line has about 29 stops.
