US Cloud

[edit]

US Cloud is an American information technology services company based in St. Louis, Missouri, specializing in independent technical support for organizations using Microsoft enterprise products. The company was established as a separate business in 2017 after a web-hosting company spun out its managed services operation.[1][2]

US Cloud operates in the independent third-party software support (TPSS) market. Gartner included US Cloud among six providers profiled in its 2025 Market Guide for Independent Third-Party Software Support of Megavendors, which covers alternatives to maintenance and support programs offered by major enterprise software vendors including Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, SAP and VMware by Broadcom.[3]

History

[edit]

Fpweb.net origins

[edit]

US Cloud developed from the managed services operations of Fpweb.net, a Microsoft hosting and services company. Fpweb.net was previously known as Frontpages Web Hosting Network and adopted the abbreviated Fpweb.net name in 2008.[4]

By 2009, Fpweb.net CEO Rob LaMear was overseeing a SharePoint hosting operation serving approximately 1.2 million hosted SharePoint seats. Around the introduction of SharePoint 2010, the company was preparing hosted services built around the new platform.[5]

Fpweb.net remained active in the SharePoint ecosystem during the following years. In 2012, its Mark Miller was among a group of SharePoint specialists discussing the use of the platform as a social-business hub.[6]

Fpweb.net later expanded beyond hosting into managed services. In 2017, the managed services operation was spun out into a separate company that became US Cloud.[2]

Formation

[edit]

US Cloud initially concentrated on third-party information technology and Microsoft enterprise support. Its early expansion coincided with increased demand from businesses outsourcing IT services.[1]

The company's revenue increased from approximately $3.4 million in 2018 to $5.7 million in 2019 and $9.4 million in 2020.[2]

Growth

[edit]

US Cloud has appeared multiple times on the Inc. 5000, which ranks privately held U.S. companies according to percentage revenue growth over a three-year period. The company ranked No. 2,044 in 2020, No. 1,301 in 2021, No. 2,080 in 2024 and No. 1,752 in 2025. Inc. reported three-year growth of 250 percent for US Cloud's 2025 ranking.[7]

The company has also appeared on CRN's Fast Growth 150, which evaluates North American technology solution providers based on two-year growth. In 2026, CRN reported two-year growth of 106.5 percent for US Cloud.[8]

By 2025, Gartner's vendor profile listed 388 customers that had fully replaced Microsoft Unified Support with US Cloud support. Gartner also listed US Cloud's headquarters as St. Louis and its certification to the ISO 27001:2022 standard.[3]

Services

[edit]

US Cloud provides independent support for Microsoft enterprise software and cloud environments.

Gartner defines independent third-party software support as support provided separately from the original software vendor. Its 2025 Market Guide examines six independent providers offering alternatives to maintenance and support programs from IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP and VMware by Broadcom. The six providers profiled by Gartner are Origina, Park Place Technologies, Rimini Street, Spinnaker Support, Support Revolution and US Cloud.[3]

Gartner's US Cloud profile describes the company as focused exclusively on Microsoft support and providing 24-hour support for Microsoft products across ticket severities. Gartner identifies US Cloud's offering as an alternative to Microsoft's Premier and Unified enterprise support programs.[3]

The profile describes US Cloud's service model as combining reactive break-fix support with proactive engineering services. Reactive support is backed by service-level agreements and includes an escalation path to Microsoft for cases requiring back-end or tenant-level intervention. Proactive services include technical advisories, system health checks, security assessments, migration assistance and consulting from enhanced designated engineers.[3]

A 2024 Forrester Research report prepared for US Cloud also examined the independent third-party software support market. The report described TPSS as an alternative to support and maintenance purchased directly from major enterprise software vendors and included US Cloud among five providers discussed in connection with independent support services.[9]

US Cloud executives have also discussed independent Microsoft support in relation to Microsoft's transition from Premier Support to Unified Support. In a 2025 Directions on Microsoft discussion, US Cloud vice president Mike Jones emphasized technical expertise, escalation capabilities and contract structure as factors organizations should evaluate when comparing Unified Support with independent alternatives.[10]

Leadership

[edit]

Rob LaMear served as chief executive of Fpweb.net before the formation of US Cloud. He was identified as Fpweb.net's CEO in 2009 and later served as chief executive of US Cloud during its early growth period.[5][1]

Matt Harris subsequently became chief executive officer of US Cloud and is identified as CEO in CRN's 2026 coverage of the company. [8]
