The Student Senate Caucus of the UBC Vancouver Senate, sometimes referred to as the Student Senate Caucus, or simply SSC, is the organization of all student senators who are part of the in the UBC Vancouver Senate. For the makeup of the 2026/2027 year the caucus has a total of 18 members. The central organizational front for students in the Senate, its primary function is communicating and organizing the opinions and diverse perspectives of all of its members into a cohesive message or vision. The present co-chairs of the Student Senate Caucus is Senator Bryan Buraga and Senator Ethan Ruggiero.
Membership
[edit]The Senate Student Caucus is comprised of 18 members, 11 of whom represent a specific Faculty or School at the University of British Columbia Vancouver Campus. These 11 members are only elected by students belonging to their respective constituency. 2 members represent the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (G+PS), with a similar caveat as the 11 Faculty representatives, while an additional 5 represent Students At-Large, where the entire student body can vote for these 5 members.
All Senators serve 1-year terms from April 1st to March 31st of the following year. The exception is the Faculty of Education representative who serves from October 1st to September 30th of the following year instead.
