Tania Haigh is an American marketing professional and child-protection advocate. She is the founder and executive director of the KIDS TOO Movement and a co-founder of Parents Against Child Sex Abuse (P.A.X.A.).[1][2]
Early life and education
[edit]Haigh was raised in Honduras and the Dominican Republic. She studied business and marketing at Texas Christian University and studied abroad in Paris.[3]
Career
[edit]Haigh spent nearly ten years at McDonald's USA. During her tenure, she established a specialized family-marketing division and served as brand manager for the Happy Meal product line.[4][5] Her work also included food quality, brand reputation and communications directed toward women and mothers.[4]
In 2011, while working as a marketing manager for McDonald's USA, Haigh participated in the company's National Hiring Day campaign, which sought to recruit 50,000 employees and improve public perceptions of employment at the company.[6]
Haigh launched Magnolia Insights in 2014. The marketing strategy firm offered services including consumer research, campaign development, brand management and positioning, with a focus on marketing to women and mothers.[4][5][7] A 2021 Illinois government vendor directory listed Magnolia Insights as a women- and minority-owned business certified through the Women's Business Development Center.[8]
In 2015, Haigh founded TEDxOakParkWomen and served as organizer of its inaugural event, an independently organized TEDx event in the Oak Park and River Forest area of Illinois.[9][10] She remained involved in later TEDxOakParkWomen programming.[11]
Child protection advocacy
[edit]In 2017, Haigh co-founded Parents Against Child Sex Abuse, an Illinois organization initially focused on preventing and raising awareness of child sexual abuse.[1][2] During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization's work expanded to address online safety and developed into the KIDS TOO Movement.[1]
In a 2022 WTTW interview, Haigh said that the organization began using the #KidsToo hashtag around 2021 while participating in a coalition concerned with children’s online safety. She described the resulting movement as a “rallying cry” connected to the #MeToo movement.[12]
Haigh has participated in public-education efforts concerning child sexual abuse prevention. In a 2022 interview with WTTW, she discussed the importance of beginning age-appropriate conversations about body safety when children are young and continuing those conversations as they grow.[2] In a 2023 NPR Illinois interview, she discussed communication between parents and children, safety in schools and the implementation of Faith's Law in Illinois.[1]
Haigh has also advocated for stronger safeguards against sexual misconduct by school employees. In 2023, she spoke about Illinois's Faith's Law, grooming awareness, staff training and the accountability of school districts when responding to misconduct allegations.[13]
In 2025, Haigh addressed the Chicago Board of Education following allegations of teacher misconduct and called for stronger protections for students.[14]
Haigh has also addressed online-safety concerns affecting Latino children and families through KIDS TOO.[15][16]
