Sunshine Benzi (born Sunshine Holt) is an American rapper and songwriter.[1] They first gained recognition after the release of their breakout single "Trump the Bill" went viral on TikTok in 2024.[2]
Early life
[edit]Sunshine Benzi was born in Pontiac, Illinois.[3] She recalls writing songs and singing songs to her grandfather at a young age. Her writing style suggest she is very heavily inspired by Nicki Minaj.
Career

[edit]The rapper began uploading music to TikTok and would record freestyle rapping videos in her car.
2025–present: Breakout and debut album
[edit]In late 2025, Sunshine released her breakout single "Trump The Bill" which caught attention of many. The song eventually led to her signing with Island Records, under Universal Music Group, where should would release her first label release "Scottie Pippen" on April 10th, 2026.

Controversy

[edit]Sunshine Benzi, in a music video would show her gunning down 3 black women sitting down at a diner, while her unreleased song "Open Season" would play. Many people considered this a micro-aggression against black women, while her music is openly influenced by black women.[4]
