Stella Peace is a British chemist and innovation executive at Innovate UK.
In 2024 she was appointed interim Executive Chair of Innovate UK before continuing as the Executive Director for Healthy Living and Agriculture.[1][2]
Education
[edit]She holds a degree in chemistry and a PhD in polymer chemistry.[3][4]
Career
[edit]Stella Peace worked at Unilever as Vice President of Science and Technology for Foods and Refreshment, including periods of work in France and Japan.[5][6][7]
After leaving Unilever, Peace joined Nomad Foods. In the 2019 Sustainability Report she was identified as Group R&D Director.[8]. In 2022 she was listed as Chief Research & Development and Quality Officer.[9][10]
Peace joined Innovate UK in 2023 as Executive Director for Healthy Living and Agriculture.[11]
In August 2024, UK Research and Innovation announced that she would become interim Executive Chair of Innovate UK, with the 2024–25 UKRI annual report stating that she took up the role on 1 October 2024.[12][13]
In March 2025, the UK government confirmed that Stella Peace would remain Innovate UK’s Executive Director for Healthy Living and Agriculture, following the announcement of Tom Adeyoola as the preferred candidate for Executive Chair. [14]
