Soufiane Choubani (born 1984 in Casablanca) is a Moroccan-American teacher, international debate coach, and former anti-doping control officer.[1]

Career

[edit]

In 2014, Soufiane returned to Morocco and established Morocco Debate Association and the Moroccan National Debate Team.[2]

The Moroccan National Debate Team became the first North African national debate team to compete in the World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC) and the World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships (WIDPSC).[3][4] [2]

Soufiane led the Moroccan National Debate Team to compete in several international tournaments, including participations in Japan and Vietnam.[5][6][7] [8][9]

In 2024, Soufiane expanded his debate initiatives to Poland by founding Poland Debate Academy. The academy trained and prepared the first Polish public speakers to represent Poland at the WIDPSC, with three individual students qualifying for 2026 WIDPSC in the Bristol, England.[10][11]
