Draft:Sidespace
| This draft may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion because it serves only to promote or publicise an entity, person, product, or idea, and would require a fundamental rewrite in order to become encyclopedic. However, the mere fact that a company, organization, or product is a page's subject does not, on its own, qualify that page for deletion under this criterion. This criterion also does not apply where substantial encyclopedic content would remain after removing the promotional material as deletion is not cleanup; in this case please remove the promotional material yourself, or add the {{advert}} tag to alert others to do so. See CSD G11.

Sidespace is an Australian online commercial property marketplace based in Melbourne. Founded in 2012 by Simon Hanlon, the platform connects businesses looking for office, industrial, retail and other commercial space with landlords and agents. It is free for tenants and earns success-based fees on completed introductions.[1][2]
History
[edit]Sidespace was established in 2012 by Simon Hanlon, a former commercial lawyer, with the aim of making the leasing and purchase of commercial property faster and simpler than through traditional agencies.[1] Early coverage in 2015 grouped the company with a wave of Australian marketplace and "sharing economy" start-ups seeking to disrupt established sectors.[3][4]
In October 2023 the company sought an equity injection to expand its technology and marketing, publicly targeting A$12 million in annual revenue by 2026.[5][2][6]
Business model
[edit]Sidespace operates a marketplace covering serviced and flexible offices, conventional commercial leases, and industrial, retail, medical and development property. Owners, landlords and agents list at no cost, and the company charges success-based fees when an introduction leads to a completed transaction. A concierge service matches a tenant's requirements to available space.[1][2]
Funding and backers
[edit]The company's investors have included Patrick Grove, founder of Catcha Group; Gilles Blanchard, a co-founder of the French property portal SeLoger; Mathew Care, chief executive of Digital Classifieds Group; and Chad Stephens, a co-founder of 1Form and Fillr.[6][2][5]
Clients
[edit]Landlords and developers that have listed space through Sidespace include Dexus, BlackWall, The GPT Group, Pellicano and Goodman Group.[1]
