Sean Hargrow is an American entrepreneur. He is the co founder and Chief Operating Officer of Series (The Founder Series, Inc.), a social networking platform built inside iMessage. He studied neuroscience at Yale University, where his work focused on reward systems and social media use among young people.

Early life and education

[edit]

Hargrow was born in Queens, New York. He attended Doane Academy in New Jersey, where he played basketball. He later studied neuroscience at Yale University and graduated in 2026.[1]

Career

[edit]

In 2025, while a student at Yale, Hargrow co founded Series with Nathaneo Johnson. The platform uses artificial intelligence to facilitate introductions between users via iMessage, aiming to create connections based on mutual value rather than traditional social media metrics such as follower counts or likes.

Series raised $3.1 million in its first funding round,[2] which was completed in about two weeks. The total pre-seed funding later reached $5.1 million.[3] Reports in TechCrunch and Forbes noted that investors included Venmo co founder Iqram Magdon Ismail, Pear VC, Anne Lee Skates, Edward Tian, and Reddit CEO Steve Huffman.[4]

Hargrow and Johnson co-host The Founder Series Podcast, which features interviews with entrepreneurs and executives.[5]
