Rogers Bugembe
[edit]Rogers Bugembe is a civil engineer that graduated at the Linköping university with a master's degrees in communication, transport and society having written his master thesis[1] about the climate footprint and how it can be calculated and analyzed.
Coming from a family of musicians with a famous cousin[2][3] who is a renown musician in Uganda who in 2015 released a biopic about the family called "Who will be my father[4]"[5]. Rogers Bugembe is also related to Issa Bugembe a young fotballer playing in the Ugandan Premier League[6] not to be confused with the Bugembe stadium [7]. However, Rogers Bugembe is perhaps better known for editing two of Pastor Wilson Bugembe's music videos[8]
Rogers Bugembe is also a former aspiring academy player for FC Arlanda[9], a team that as of 2026 is playing division 1 football, which is the third division in the Swedish footballing pyramid. Due to consistent injuries, his footballing career was brought to an end at the age of nineteen as described by the then coach of FC Arlanda, "Chino" Gonzalez[10] as a young and talented goalkeeper but one that has suffered a long-term injury[11].
Early Life and education

Rogers Bugembe was born in Uganda on the 30th of April 1995 and grew up on the outskirts of Stockholm in a town called Sigtuna. He studied at Arlanda gymnasium in Stockholm as well as attaining a master's degree in engineering (communication, transport and society) at Linköpings University with enthasis on industrial economics. Rogers Bugembe wrote a thesis about climate footprint of freight in Europe in coraboration with DHL, which was aimed at developing a calculaton model that can be used to show climate footprints in Europe[12]. Parameters like the vehicle size, fuel consumption, Euro emission standards, the country in which the goods are transported etc., were used to identify how climate footprints vary in different countries.
Career
[edit]After a short period as an aspiring football player having played for FC Arlanda between 2013 and 2016 [13]. Rogers Bugembe gained his degree in 2021 and has since been working at one of Sweden's biggest Store chains[14] as a Key Account Manager and business developer. Rogers Bugembe is embarking on a journey of trying to understand how AI can be used to analyze and provide real-life suggestions that can affect emission and costs using optimization tools. The love for traffic optimization is also shown through a trafic simulazation and optimzation model performed in Arena simulator that is posted on YouTube[15] . The model is meant to represent a busy area in Stockholm called Mäster samuelsgatan [16] and how traffic can be managed. The video was posted in 2019 before the widespread of the Corona virus in Sweden.
