Reet Poudel (Nepali: ऋत पौडेल) is a Nepalese psychiatrist[1] and sexologist.[2][3] He completed his MBBS from Kathmandu University and MD in Psychiatry from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He then completed his one year Fellowship in Psychosexual Medicine from JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research. He currently works as a consultant in Psychiatry and Sexual Medicine in Shree Birendra Hospital, Kathmandu, Nepal.[3] He is considered Nepal’s first Sexologist with an masters and fellowship degree.[4][5]
He started Nepal's first 'Sexual Wellness Clinic', a clinic specifically dedicated to sexual health and human sexuality, which provided medical care and support for various sexual health related issues including sexually transmitted diseases and sexual dysfunctions.[2][4][5] This clinic was started in Nepalgunj Medical College and provided services on a fixed day basis.
He has published various scientific journal articles and book chapters on psychiatry and sexology.[6][7] He is known for promoting evidence-based sexual health education through print[8][9][10][11][12] and social media, particularly YouTube, helping to raise public awareness of sexual and mental health issues among Nepali-speaking audiences.[13][14][15][16]
