ROOMIE is a Malaysian hospitality technology company that develops digital platforms for hotel guest engagement and services. In 2017, The Star described ROOMIE as an application that allowed hotel guests to access hotel services through their mobile devices.[1]
History
[edit]ROOMIE was covered by The Star in December 2017 in an article about Select TV's strategy for developing its ROOMIE application. The article discussed ROOMIE in the context of the hotel technology market and the company's plans for developing the application.[1]
In July 2019, BFM featured ROOMIE in a programmed titled Digitizing Hotels On A Single App. The programme discussed the use of digital technology in the hospitality industry and ROOMIE's approach to hotel-guest engagement. It covered the use of the platform for customer feedback and personalised, on-demand services.[2]
In 2023, TTG Asia reported on ROOMIE's expansion into the Asia-Pacific region. The publication described ROOMIE as a digital guest engagement platform for hotels and reported that the platform had gone live in 2019.[3]
Platform
[edit]The ROOMIE platform provides digital communication and service functions for hotels and their guests. In 2017, The Star reported that guests could use the mobile application to access hotel services.[1]
By 2023, TTG Asia reported that the platform included consolidated chat functions for reservation enquiries and guest communication. It also reported services including room-service orders, service requests, hotel information, live chat and movies on demand.[3]
According to TTG Asia, ROOMIE also used automation for some back-end hotel service processes. The publication reported that the platform included data and artificial intelligence services for measuring and benchmarking hotel service performance.[3]
BFM's 2019 programme described ROOMIE as a platform that allowed hotels to engage with customers and use customer feedback in a more data-driven manner. It also discussed the use of the platform to provide personalised on-demand services.[2]
Expansion
[edit]In 2023, TTG Asia reported that ROOMIE had around 60 hotel clients across nine Malaysian states.[3]
The publication also reported that the company was planning to expand beyond Malaysia, with Thailand identified as its next market and Singapore as a subsequent market. The expansion was described as part of ROOMIE's plans to grow its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.[3]
