Oussama Assli (Arabic: أسامة عسلي) (born 31 October 2001) is a Moroccan kickboxer. He is the current Karate Combat welterweight champion since December 2025.^[1]^[2]

Early life

Oussama grew up in Casablanca. He left school at 17 and moved to Thailand to train in combat sports. ^[3] He later fought in Dubai and in Europe before settling in the United States.^[4] ^[5]^[6] He lives in Winter Garden, Florida.^[7]

Career

Recognition

In December 2025 Oussama fought against current WMO Muay Thai World Champion and the current ISKA K1 World Champion James Honey ^[8] and won by unanimous decision.^[9]^[10]

Early fights

Oussama Assli made his Karate Combat debut in October 2024. He won his first four fights in the promotion. Three of them ended before the final round.^[7]^[11]

Karate Combat welterweight world championship

Oussama faced James Honey for the welterweight world championship on 5 December 2025 at Karate Combat 58 in Miami. Assli won the bout by unanimous decision after five rounds, with all judges favoring him.^[12] ^[13] Oussama Assli is considered as the first Moroccan to claim a Karate Combat world championship. ^[14] He appeared as a guest on Addahira, the midday live news programme on 2M, later that month.^[15]

Karate Combat welterweight world championship defence

The Brazilian Lucas Martins who is a former UFC fighter and a former Brave Combat Federation interim lightweight champion, challenged Assli for the Karate Combat welterweight championship bout in July 2026.^[16]^[17]^[18] Oussama Assli successfully defended his Karate Combat championship title in the welterweight division, by a first round knockout in Miami. ^[19] ^[20] ^[21]^[22]
