OWASmooth s. r. o. is a Slovak software company based in Košice that develops methods for processing sensor data. It was founded in 2025 by applied mathematician Barbora Hennelová and experimental physicist Miroslav Hennel.[1][2]
History
[edit]OWASmooth was established in Košice in March 2025.[3] Its development originated in an attempt to apply methods from mathematical aggregation to data obtained from physical experiments.[2]
In June 2025, the Czech business publication Euro.cz reported that the company had received an investment from Czech Founders VC.[4]
Technology
[edit]The company develops software for filtering and transforming noisy data, particularly measurements produced by sensors. Its approach uses deterministic mathematical calculations rather than trained neural-network models.[1] The software has been described as deployable either as a library integrated into a device's software or as a cloud service.[1] Applications discussed in published profiles include the Internet of things, robotics, energy systems and other systems that process sensor measurements.[1][2]
DORIS project
[edit]OWASmooth coordinates the European Union-funded project “Sensoric Data Optimisation and Reduction using Intelligent System”, abbreviated as DORIS. The project is listed in the European Commission's CORDIS database under grant agreement 101310121.[5]
The project runs from July 2026 to December 2027 and has an EU contribution of €499,931.70. Its stated objective is to develop the company's sensor-signal processing technology from laboratory validation towards industrial use.[5]
