Comment: This will need better sourcing, per WP:NORG. All the sources here are from Arabic Wikipedia or the Syrian government. The Wikipedia links can't be used due to WP:CIRCULAR and the government sources are considered primary. Though that is ok for verification, it's does not count towards notability, which is the key issue here. ChrysGalley (talk) 08:00, 3 October 2026 (UTC)

National Commission for Biotechnology is a public scientific body affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (Syria). Established in 2002 and commencing operations in 2003, it aims to bridge the technological gap in the field of biotechnology, accelerate its introduction and localization, and coordinate efforts among institutions involved in such research, as well as the associated administrative and legislative procedures.[1]
The National Commission for Biotechnology (NCBT) and the National Biosafety Committee (SNBC) were among the first institutions to establish a regulatory framework for research on genetically modified organisms. They are key players in the Syrian biotechnology sector, alongside the Atomic Energy Commission of Syria (AECS), the General Commission for Scientific Agricultural Research (GCSAR), the Biotechnology Center at the University of Latakia, and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD).[2]
The Authority’s Vision
