N2W Software, Inc., branded as N2W (previously N2WS), is an American software company that develops backup and disaster recovery software for public cloud environments, principally Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. The company was founded in Israel in 2012 by Uri Wolloch and Ohad Kritz. It is headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and maintains a development center in Haifa, Israel.

History

[edit]

The Register reported that the N2W product was originally called Cloud Protection Manager (CPM) and launched in AWS Marketplace in November 2013.[1][2]

In 2017, an investment round was led by Insight Venture Partners. Veeam also invested in the company, and Veeam co-founder Ratmir Timashev joined N2W's board.[2] In January 2018, Veeam acquired N2W for US$42.5 million. However, N2W continued to operate as a standalone business under its existing brand.[3][2][4]

In late 2019, Veeam sold N2W back to the original founders, CEO Ohad Kritz and CTO Uri Wolloch. According to CRN, the divestiture followed Veeam's discussions with the U.S. government.[5][6]

Expansion beyond AWS

[edit]

Initially built for AWS, in July 2021, N2W released version 4.0, which added support for Microsoft Azure virtual machines and disks.[7][8]

Rebranding

[edit]

In May 2025, the company announced that it had shortened its N2WS brand to N2W. The corporate entity continues to use the name N2W Software, Inc.[9]

Products

[edit]

N2W Software's original product was called Cloud Protection Manager and was subsequently marketed as N2WS Backup & Recovery before the company's 2025 rebrand.[9][2][10]
