COI disclosure: I have a personal relationship with Marco Lo Presti and therefore have a conflict of interest regarding this subject. I am submitting this draft through Articles for Creation for independent review rather than creating or substantially editing the article directly.
Marco Lo Presti is an Italian ballet dancer and principal dancer with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB). He joined the company in 2023 and was promoted to principal dancer in 2026.
Career
[edit]Lo Presti trained at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome.[1]
He began his professional career in Italy with Daniele Cipriani Entertainment. He later appeared in Micha van Hoecke's SHINE Pink Floyd Moon. Reviewing the production in 2019, dance critic Graham Spicer named Lo Presti among the dancers who stood out in the cast.[2]
Lo Presti subsequently spent two seasons with Tanzcompany Innsbruck in Austria.[1] He portrayed Federico García Lorca in Enrique Gasa Valga's Lorca. Reviewing the company's 2023 performance at LaFACT Cultural in Terrassa, Marta Porter of the Catalan newspaper Ara described Lo Presti as "splendid" in the leading role and discussed several scenes from his performance, including one in which he played guitar onstage.[3]
During his time in Innsbruck, Lo Presti also performed Tom Buchanan in Gasa Valga's adaptation of The Great Gatsby. Writing for Opera Online, Helmut Pitsch commented specifically on Lo Presti's portrayal of Buchanan.[4]
He portrayed Pablo Picasso in Lara Brandi's Maledetto Modigliani. A review in the Tiroler Tageszeitung discussed the production's depiction of the rivalry between Lo Presti's Picasso and Modigliani.[5]
In 2023, Lo Presti joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet as a second soloist.[1] His roles with the company have included Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, the Nutcracker Prince in The Nutcracker, and Prince Florimund in The Sleeping Beauty.[1]
In December 2025, The Manitoban interviewed Lo Presti and fellow dancer Julianna Generoux about their preparations for The Nutcracker, their partnership in the production, and the demands of performing and touring with the company.[6]
Reviewing the closing performance the following month, The Manitoban discussed Lo Presti's performance as the Nutcracker Prince, including his athleticism and partnering with Generoux in the second-act grand pas de deux.[7]
In March 2026, The Manitoban again reviewed Lo Presti, this time as Prince Florimund in The Sleeping Beauty, discussing his stage presence, partnering, acting in the Act II dream sequence, and Act III variation.[8]
In April 2026, Pointe reported that Lo Presti would be promoted to principal dancer at the start of the following Royal Winnipeg Ballet season.[9] The Royal Winnipeg Ballet subsequently listed him as a principal dancer.[1]
