History

The company was founded in September 2012 by Eduardo Dias, Pedro Centieiro, Mário Franco, Jorge Guedes, Filipe Barrenho, Pedro Sacadura, Catarina Paiva and Bruno Horta. Its first product was Viva Ronaldo, a mobile application launched in collaboration with football player Cristiano Ronaldo[1]. In July 2020, the company rebranded from Viva Superstars to Magycal.

Operations and clients

Magycal provides digital media platforms and software solutions for broadcasting, sports, news and entertainment organizations. Its clients have included Portuguese media companies such as SPORT TV[2], Grupo Impresa, Media Capital, CNN Portugal and Liga Portugal.

The company is headquartered at Madan Parque in Almada, Portugal, with an additional office at the Instituto Pedro Nunes in Coimbra.
