Draft:Libraryminds

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Libraryminds is an artificial intelligence software platform developed by Libraryminds Technologies for transcribing, organizing, searching, and analyzing recorded and textual information. The platform converts supported audio and video content into searchable transcripts and provides keyword and semantic search, summaries, chapters, question answering, and other knowledge-management features.[1]

History

[edit]

Libraryminds was founded by Aaditya Kumar in December 2025.[2][3]

The platform was initially developed around searchable transcription of recorded media. It subsequently expanded to support additional forms of content, including podcasts, lectures, webinars, meetings, YouTube videos, documents, ebooks, articles, images, and screenshots.[4]

The company is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.[5]

Features

[edit]

Libraryminds provides automated transcription for supported audio and video recordings, including podcasts, interviews, lectures, courses, webinars, meetings, uploaded recordings, YouTube content, and voice recordings.[4]

The platform provides keyword and semantic search across transcripts. Its semantic search system uses vector representations of transcript content to retrieve passages based on their meaning rather than requiring an exact keyword match. Search results retain timestamps that allow users to navigate to the corresponding point in the source recording.[4]

The platform can generate summaries, chapters, flashcards, action items, and question-and-answer responses from supported content. Generated results can be linked to timestamps in the source transcript.[4]

Libraryminds also provides tools for organizing and reviewing information, including bookmarks, notes, speaker diarization, research sessions, margin notes, and argument mapping.[4]

Content import and processing

[edit]

Libraryminds supports the import of audio and video files in common formats, including MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and WebM. Existing transcript files can also be imported.[4]

The platform supports YouTube imports and can process documents including PDF, DOCX, TXT, and EPUB files. It also provides optical character recognition for images and screenshots containing text.[4]

Users can create automated subscriptions for supported podcast RSS feeds, YouTube channels, blogs, and newsletters. New content from subscribed sources can be processed and added to a user's library.[4]

Research and knowledge tools

[edit]

The "Ask My Library" feature allows users to ask questions across their collection of transcripts. The system searches stored content and generates answers based on relevant transcript passages, with references to source timestamps.[4]

Libraryminds also provides a Contradiction Engine that compares information from multiple transcripts and identifies conflicting claims. Research Sessions allow related transcripts to be grouped around a research topic or question.[4]

The platform includes tools for generating flashcards from recorded content and reviewing previously stored material. Its knowledge-decay feature uses viewing history to identify content that has not been revisited recently.[4]

Collaboration and sharing

[edit]

Libraryminds provides shared workspaces in which users can organize transcripts by project, client, or team. Workspace owners can invite other users and assign roles.[4]

Users can also create public links for transcripts, summaries, and other supported content. Publicly shared transcripts can be read and searched without requiring the reader to have a Libraryminds account.[4]

Developer API

[edit]

Libraryminds provides a REST API for integrating transcription and searchable-knowledge features into other applications. The API supports submission of YouTube URLs, media files, and public media URLs for asynchronous processing.[6]

The API provides access to timestamped transcripts and supports functions including summaries, chapters, translations, semantic search, exports, and webhook notifications.[6]

Browser extension

[edit]

Libraryminds provides a browser extension for Chromium-based browsers. The extension can initiate transcription of supported videos from websites including YouTube, Vimeo, and TikTok and sends completed transcripts to a user's Libraryminds account.[7]

The extension also provides features including automatic detection of supported videos, bulk transcription, relevance information based on a user's existing library, and updates from subscribed YouTube channels.[4]

Business features

[edit]

Libraryminds provides business workspaces with shared credit management, seat-based billing, workspace permissions, and shared transcript libraries.[8]

Its business features also include an AI meeting bot designed to join supported Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams meetings and produce searchable transcripts. Workspace members can access and search transcripts according to workspace permissions.[8]

Privacy

[edit]

Libraryminds states that uploaded video files are deleted after processing and that searchable text is retained in the user's library. The platform provides export options for supported transcript formats, including SRT, VTT, TXT, Markdown, and Notion-compatible formats.[9]
