Karen MusiQ is a Malawian Afro and Afro-gospel recording artist based in Lilongwe, Malawi. He is signed to the Malawian record label GrinHeart. His music combines Afrobeat, Afro-pop and gospel influences.
Early life
[edit]Karen MusiQ was born in Thyolo District in the Southern Region of Malawi. He grew up in Thyolo, where he completed his primary and secondary education before sitting for the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations.
He developed an interest in music at a young age and began writing and performing songs while living in Thyolo. At the time, music was primarily a passion rather than a professional career.
Career
[edit]After completing his education, Karen MusiQ relocated to Lilongwe, where he worked while pursuing music professionally. During this period he recorded several songs, although many remained unreleased because of financial constraints.
Karen MusiQ later signed with GrinHeart, under which his music is released and distributed.
In 2026, he released the single "Topic", marking his first official release under GrinHeart.
Musical style
[edit]Karen MusiQ performs Afrobeat, Afro-pop and Afro-gospel music. His songs commonly explore themes of faith, love, hope and everyday life.
