Jinn Wedding is a Kuwait urban legend base on the account of Noura Al-Taqaqa a famous wedding singer.[1] The story has been known among Arabic speakers, but many English speaking podcast and YouTube series have covered the story. [2] An Arabic TV series of similar name was produced in Kuwait in 2026[3]
Noura Al Taqaqa is described as gifted singer in early 90's, a voice that can enrapture even elusive beings and melodies that resonated even to ethereal beings. She was famous in all of kingdom of Kuwait.[4] She was frequently booked to perform in many elites wedding, parties and large scales events.
The Wedding
[edit]The incident happen on early 90's, reports and other retelling of the story varies on what year but they all are within the 90's era. One day Noura received a random phone call inquiring about her singing performances. Noura explained that she perform together with her drummer, where they mostly presents in parties or weddings. The caller then ask if she and her band (drummer) is available to perform in a wedding. Noura agreed to the proposal because they are free on that day.
Its not uncommon for Arab weddings to be held in houses in early 90's[5][6], Noura arrived the location where she and her band saw this lavish mansion. Noura thinks this is just another affluent wedding party, to her it was ordinary, because she is used to perform in many elite parties and weddings. Noura was welcomed, greeted by servants and the house members seems to beloved with Noura's presences. [7]
10:30 PM, guest began arriving, Noura and the band noticed the number of arrivals has been kept going endlessly, they watch the guest danced in unnatural way, it was wrong, hypnotic and twisted. As they continue to perform, Noura exchanges terrifying looks of its bandmates, they wanted to stop performing but stopping would might endanger them.
At midnight, guest bodies started to transform, arms started to grew, legs bent backwards, and faces shifted like unknown creatures. They continue to perform while these being dances on Noura's music. At 3AM the light went out, in darkness Noura and her band flee from the venue leaving their belongings.[8]
