James Theedom (born 5 March 2007) is an English professional cricketer who plays for Somerset County Cricket Club. He is a right arm medium pace bowler and left-handed batsman. He made his List A cricket debut for Somerset on 14 August 2025 against Yorkshire.
Career
[edit]From Devon, Theedom attended Queen Elizabeth's School, Crediton and Exeter College. He played club cricket at Sandford CC, the third generation from his family to play for the club with his father Mathew Theedom also a cricketer and his grandfather Chris a former first-team regular and later club groundsman. Theedom was also part of the Devon Performance Pathway. He joined the Academy at Somerset County Cricket Club in 2023.[1][2] He made his List A cricket debut for Somerset on 14 August 2025 against Yorkshire, and claimed his first wicket in the professional game wit the dismissal of Yorkshire batter Finlay Bean.[1]
Theedom signed a professional contract with Somerset prior to the start of the 2026 season.[3][4] In July 2026, he took career best figures of 4 for 54 in the One-Day Cup against Warwickshire on only his third List A appearance.[5]
