Dr James P Mahon is a media academic.^[1]^[2], researcher ^[3]^[4], broadcast journalist ^[5]^[6]and author from Ireland based in the UK. ^[7]^[8]

His academic research explores digital media trends and the ethical dilemmas they pose for educators, employers and students of media and journalism. ^[9]^[10]^[11]^[12] Mahon's fieldwork and case studies have been presented at a number of national and international conferences ^[13]^[14]^[15]. and been featured by the Royal Society of Edinburgh ^[16] and shared by the Scottish government ^[17].

Asides from written academic outputs, Mahon also creates research led documentary films ^[18]^[19] and podcasts^[20]^[21] and has completed a PhD in mobile journalism ^[22].
