Jakub Pytlowany (born 26 July 2002) is a Polish professional squash player. He won the men's title at the 2026 Polish National Squash Championships, defeating Filip Jarota in the final.[1][2] Following the 2026 national championships, he was ranked No. 1 in the Polish Squash Federation Open ranking published on 15 June 2026.[3] He has also represented Poland in international team competition.[4]
Career
[edit]Pytlowany is from Kraków, Poland.[5] According to Squash Info, he joined the Professional Squash Association in 2021 and reached a career-high PSA world ranking of No. 249 on 8 January 2024.[5]
In May 2022, Pytlowany reached the semi-finals of the Polskisquash Enjoy Open, a PSA Challenger Tour event held in Bielsko-Biała. The PSA Squash Tour reported that he defeated No. 4 seed Kamil Dominiak in the quarter-finals.[6]
In 2023, the Polish Squash Federation published an article about Pytlowany's participation in the International Tournament Madeira Island 2023, describing it as the biggest tournament of his career at that time and explaining how he qualified for the PSA 15k event.[7]
National championships
[edit]As a junior player, Pytlowany won Polish national titles in age-group categories. He won the boys' under-15 title in 2017, the boys' under-17 title in 2019 and the boys' under-19 title in 2021.[8]
In senior national competition, he was runner-up at the 2021 Polish National Championships and finished third in 2023.[8] At the 2026 Polish National Squash Championships in Lublin, Pytlowany won his first senior national title. In the men's final, he defeated Filip Jarota after losing the opening game. Dziennik Wschodni reported that the final was contested by the first and second players in the Polish ranking at the time.[1] Dziennik Sport also covered his first Polish senior title under the headline "Premierowe złoto".[2]
Following the 2026 national championships, Pytlowany was listed as the No. 1 player in the Polish Squash Federation Open ranking of 15 June 2026.[3]
National team
[edit]Pytlowany has represented Poland at the European Team Squash Championships. In 2025, Poland reached the men's Division 2 final at the European Team Championships in Wrocław and secured promotion to Division 1 for 2026. European Squash reported that the final against the Netherlands came down to the last match between Pytlowany and Guido Lindner.[9]
In 2026, Pytlowany was named in the Polish squad for the European Team Squash Championships Division 1, held in Amsterdam from 29 April to 2 May 2026.[4] Squash Info also lists him as competing at the European Team Championship in May 2026.[5]
