JFrog is an Israeli software company that develops DevOps tools.[1] It was founded in 2008 by Shlomi Ben Haim, Yoav Landman, and Frederic Simon.[2]

As of 2025, JFrog has over 1600 employees, of which around 1000 are based in Israel.[3]

History

[edit]

JFrog was founded in 2008 by Shlomi Ben Haim, Yoav Landman, and Frederic Simon.[2]

In November 2016, JFrog acquired Conan, a C and C++ package manager.[4]

On September 16, 2020, JFrog launched its initial public offering on the Nasdaq.[5]

Products

[edit]

JFrog develops DevOps software products.[1] One of these products is JFrog Artifactory, a repository for software artifacts.[5] Artifactory allows hosting a repository of packages, which can be hosted locally or on JFrog's servers.[6][7]

2026 OpenAI agent cyberattacks

[edit]

In July 2026, an OpenAI AI model identified and exploited multiple security flaws in Artifactory, which it used to escape its testing environment and breach the infrastructure of Hugging Face.[6] The role of Artifactory in the exploit chain was not disclosed until it was announced by JFrog alongside security patches for it on 29 July, a week after OpenAI had announced its own role in the attacks.[8][9]
