Israel Fagbemigun is a Nigerian journalist, media consultant and communications strategist. He is the founder of Nigerian Cable News and ISFAG Communications Limited.[1]

Early life and education

Fagbemigun is from Igbodigo in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria. He studied microbiology at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he became involved in student journalism and student unionism.[2] [3]

He later obtained postgraduate qualifications in mass communication from Nasarawa State University.

Career

Pre-political career

Fagbemigun began his career in journalism, gaining experience through campus journalism before working with media organisations including Ondo TV. He founded Nigerian Cable News (NCN), where he served as News Editor.[4]

He subsequently established ISFAG Communications Limited, a media and communications consultancy.

Political and public-sector career

Fagbemigun later moved into political and public-sector communication. He served as a media aide to former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko in 2016 and subsequently held media advisory and consultancy roles with committees of the House of Representatives of Nigeria.

In 2019, Daily Trust and TheCable identified him as a media consultant to a member of the House of Representatives in reports concerning the appointment of political aides.[5] [6]

He later worked as a media consultant to the Nigeria Immigration Service.[7] [8]
