InkPoster is a color ePaper digital frame based on E Ink's Spectra 6 display technology [1]. A Swiss brand of art frames for displaying artworks, posters, personal images, etc.[2] InkPoster frames use reflective color ePaper screens[3], and are controlled via the InkPoster application which also gives access to a gallery of digital art content[4]. InkPoster is part of the PocketBook brand portfolio [5]. First launched at CES 2025, InkPoster was an early entrant in the ePaper art frames category [6].
History
[edit]InkPoster was developed by PocketBook,[7] a Swiss tech company which has been manufacturing E Ink e-readers since 2007 [8]. The first InkPoster models were publicly presented at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.[9] These included the Affresco series in 13.3-inch and 31.5-inch formats, as well as the Tela 28.5-inch model, with Sharp IGZO technology[10]. In spring 2025, InkPoster's parent company PocketBook acquired[11] [12] the Belgian digital art display brand IONNYK [13].
In 2026, InkPoster presented two A1-sized color ePaper art displays[14]: the Duna model,[15] developed in collaboration with Italian design house[16] Pininfarina, and the Tela 40.5-inch model.[17]
Technology
[edit]InkPoster products use E Ink Spectra 6 color ePaper technology,[18] a reflective display technology designed for static color imagery. Selected models, including the Duna and Tela series, also use Sharp IGZO technology [19]. E Ink Spectra 6 is a full-color ePaper technology[20] featuring a 60,000 color gamut and a contrast ratio of up to 30:1. As a non-backlit, reflective display, it has a nearly 180-degree viewing angle[21].
Key characteristics of InkPoster's E Ink displays include:
Paper-like. E Ink screen consists of millions of microcapsules[22] containing color pigments that are rearranged electrically to form images. This structure allows artworks, posters, and photographs to appear similar to paper printed images rather than LСD, OLED and other screens.
Static image retention. InkPoster devices require power only when updating or changing an image.[23] Once displayed, images remain visible without continuous power input. This enables cordless operation and allows the devices to remain in a Power-off mode while still showing content.
Reflective. As reflective displays, InkPoster screens do not emit light and produce no flicker, heat, or Blue Light emissions,[24]
All InkPoster devices are managed through the InkPoster mobile application,[25] which allows users to upload and change images, access licensed art content, and display personal photographs.
Models
[edit]The InkPoster product line includes the following models:
InkPoster Tela 28.5".[26] A color ePaper art display using E Ink Spectra 6 screen with a Sharp IGZO technology.
InkPoster Affresco 31.5".[27] A color ePaper display based on E Ink Spectra 6 technology.
InkPoster Affresco 13.3".[28] A compact color ePaper display using E Ink Spectra 6 technology.
InkPoster Duna 40.5".[29] A color ePaper art poster created in collaboration with Italian design studio Pininfarina, using E Ink Spectra 6 technology with a Sharp IGZO backplane.
InkPoster Tela 40.5".[30] A color ePaper art display with E Ink Spectra 6 technology and a Sharp IGZO backplane.
Pininfarina collaboration
[edit]In 2026, InkPoster collaborated with Italian design studio Pininfarina[31] on the development of InkPoster Duna, a color ePaper art display with A1 (40.5") screen size[32]. The collaboration focused on integrating industrial design with color ePaper display technology, resulting in a device characterized by metal surfaces and a frame with Alcantara material.[33]
