Happy Meek (Japanese: ハッピーミーク, Hepburn: Happii Miiku) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse.

Background

Happy Meek is a Grey Mare bred in Japan by Hashimoto Farm, born on February 29, 2020. She is named after a fictional character in the Umamusume: Pretty Derby franchise. She was eventually bought by Koichiro Yamaguichi.

Racing career

2022: two-year-old season

Happy Meek debuted on August 13, 2022, in the Sapporo Racecourse Two-Year-Old Newcomer, with Hayato Yoshida as her Jockey.

2023: three-year-old season

In her three-year-old season, Happy Meek Competed in three three-year-old maiden races at Nakayama Racecourse, and another at Fukushima Racecourse. She then moved to C1 races attempting to win a race to move out of maiden status, competing at Kawasaki Racecourse, and winning her first race at Nagoya Racecourse's Congratulations Jockey Fumio Matoba. Throughout the rest of the year, and often until her five-year-old season, she would be jockeyed by Makoto Okabe.

2024: four-year-old season

Happy Meek competed in her first Listed race in her four-year-old season, at Nagoya Racecourse, with the Wakakusa Sho Donko Kinen, as well as winning her first Listed Race, with Kasamatsu Racecourse's Nadeshiko Soha. She won two other Listed races that year, with Nagoya's Akizakura Sho, and Kanazawa Racecourse's Kishin Sho.

2025: five-year-old season

As a five-year-old, Happy Meek competed in four National Association of Racing A races, finishing one in a dead heat.

2026: six-year-old season

As a six-year-old, Happy meek has competed in three Listed races, and was scheduled to run in a Listed race, but was scratched.[3][4]
