Comment: Only source added since last review is a regulatory document that does not speak to notability. Please add independent sources; press releases are not sufficient and routine funding updates don't help either. Please see WP:NOTABILITY. Heavy Grasshopper (talk) 15:08, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
Glooko
[edit]Glooko, Inc. is a privately held global digital health company headquartered in Palo Alto, California, that provides a unified, connected care platform for diabetes management[1]. The platform's core offering is a system that allows people with diabetes and their healthcare providers to collect, view, analyze, and act upon diabetes data from a wide variety of diabetes and health monitoring devices and applications offered by company partners, including Novo Nordisk, Insulet, Abott, and Dexcom.
History and Development
[edit]Glooko was founded in 2010 in Silicon Valley by venture capitalist Yogen Dalal, Chamath Palihapitiya and mobile developer Sundeep Madra. Dalal conceived the idea as a way to collect and visualize his own blood glucose data, addressing the fragmentation caused by siloed data from diabetes devices[2]. The first product was the Glooko MeterSync Cable, an FDA-cleared solution that enabled the transfer of data from various blood glucose meters to a smartphone[3]. The company also offered an insulin dosing calculator for Type 2 Diabetes, approved by the FDA, through its platform. The company has secured investments, including a reported $100 million Series F funding round in October 2024, led by Georgian.[4]
Glooko has used acquisitions to expand its diabetes management platform capabilities and market reach.
- Diasend (September 2016): Merged to expand Glooko's global presence (especially Europe) and increase overall device compatibility.[5]
- xbird (January 2022): Acquired Berlin-based health AI company to enhance personalized digital coaching through machine learning and JITAI (Just In Time Adaptive Intervention).[6]
- DIABNEXT (March 2022): Acquired to support local remote monitoring programs in France.[7] Product is now offered as Glooko XT in the French market.
- Monarch Medical Technologies (September 2025): Acquired the maker of the EndoTool® Glucose Management System, an FDA-cleared software for optimizing insulin dosing in hospitalized patients.[8]
