George Kalpadakis

George Kalpadakis (Greek: Γιώργος Καλπαδάκης; born 3 October 1981) is a Greek academic who has served in the legislative and executive branches of government in Greece.

Career

He studied at University College London and the London School of Economics and Political Science, and received a PhD from the University of Athens.[1]

He is a Senior Researcher at the Academy of Athens.[2] He has held visiting academic appointments at Harvard University, the University of Cambridge,[3] the University of Vienna,[4] the universities of Crete and Thrace.[5]

In 2013 he received the Academy of Athens Award, for his study of the Macedonia naming dispute.[6] [7]

Between 2012 and 2016, Kalpadakis served in the offices of Deputy Prime Minister Yannis Dragasakis and Finance Minister George Chouliarakis, including as Chief of Staff and as Secretary-General of the Government Council on Economic Policy (KYSOIP), the cabinet body responsible for coordinating economic policy.[8][9][10]
