Francesco Chiacchio (born 19 December 1981 in Fiesole, Tuscany, Italy), is an Italian illustrator and cartoonist. Already well-known in Italy for his work as an illustrator for prominent publishing houses such as Orecchio Acerbo, Rizzoli, and Salani, as well as for magazines like Internazionale^[1] and newspapers such as L'Unità^[2] and La Repubblica,^[3] in 2023 he became internationally known for having collaborated with Eric Kaplan for the New York Times.^[4]

Biography

Raised in Florence, he has lived in Spain in Barcelona.^[5]

Career

After working for Orecchio Acerbo and Lupetti Editore between 2006 and 2008, he collaborated with prestigious Italian newspapers such as la Repubblica, from 2010 to 2012. In 2021 he was selected to participate in Ilustrarte (International Biennial of Illustration for Children). In 2022 he participated in the Illustri Festival exhibition in Vicenza. In 2023 he illustrated the pages written by Eric Kaplan of The New York Times.^[6] Since 2025 he has worked for the magazine L'Internazionale, participating in the Ferrara festival.^[7]
