Fawesome TV (commonly referred to as Fawesome) is an American over-the-top (OTT) free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) platform.[1][2] Owned by Future Today Inc., the company was founded by Indian-Americans Vikrant Mathur and Alok Ranjan[3][4] and is based in Menlo Park, California.[5]

The platform operates as an ad-supported video-on-demand (AVOD) service, generating revenue through video advertisements integrated into streams.[5][6] Access to the service is free and does not require registration, account creation, or payment details.[7][8] Fawesome is distributed as a standalone app and as a channel network across smart TV platforms and streaming devices, including Roku[9][10], Amazon Fire TV[7][11], Apple TV[2], Android TV[7], Samsung TV[6], Vizio[6][12], LG[6], Comcast Xfinity[13], Cox[14][15], and Rogers Ignite TV[16], as well as web browsers.[17]

History

[edit]

Future Today Inc. launched Fawesome TV as part of a digital streaming portfolio that includes the children's service HappyKids.[2][15] In 2022, Future Today integrated Publica's server-side ad insertion (SSAI) technology to manage connected TV advertising infrastructure. [5]

The platform expanded its distribution network through carriage deals with major cable and streaming providers, including Comcast (Xfinity)[13], Cox Communications[14][15], Sling TV[18], and Rogers Communications.[16] Future Today redesigned the Fawesome app interface in 2024[19]and partnered with iSpot.tv to measure cross-screen advertising campaigns.[20] The platform expanded into casual gaming in mid-2025, adding over 60 interactive titles. [21][22]

Consumer Reports listed Fawesome among its recommended free video streaming applications in 2026.[23]

Content and Partnership

[edit]

Fawesome distributes licensed films and television series across various genres, including drama, horror, action, and family programming.[11][24] Its catalogue includes content licensed from major film studios and independent distributors, such as Warner Bros. Discovery[25], Sony Pictures Entertainment[26][27], Samuel Goldwyn Films[26][27], Lionsgate[6][28], Paramount[6][23], Amazon MGM Studios[29][30], and Pinnacle Peak Pictures.[31] The platform also carries specialized linear FAST channels, including Blue Ant Media[28], Moviesphere[28], Ebony by Lionsgate[28], Tastemade[28], GoPro TV[28], and Shout! TV. [32]

In addition to traditional studio content, Future Today has expanded the platform's library through digital and sports licensing deals. This includes syndication partnerships with YouTube content creators[12], Spanish-language content distribution agreements[33][34], and indie film packages from Iris Indie Global.[35][36] Fawesome has also broadcast live sports and event programming through North American rights for the Miss Universe[37] and Miss World pageants.[38]

Original Programming

[edit]

Fawesome began producing original programming in 2024, focusing on biographical feature films and unscripted competition series. [39]

  • Greenwood Rising: The Rise of Black Wall Street (2024): A biographical drama directed by Aaron L. Williams chronicling the history of Tulsa's Greenwood District. [40][41]
  • The Peanut Man (2024): A biographical film directed by Aaron L. Williams detailing the life and agricultural contributions of George Washington Carver. [42][43]
  • Southern Food Truck Wars (2025): An unscripted six-episode culinary competition series. [44][45]
