On 18 March, 2010, Exin Flight 3589, an Antonov An-26B operating a scheduled cargo flight from Helsinki Airport, Finland, to Tallinn Airport, Estonia, on behalf of DHL Aviation, crash-landed on the frozen Lake Ülemiste, Estonia, after a failed landing attempt. All six crew members on board survived. The investigation into the accident found out that an engine failure, mismanaged by the crew, was the caused of the missed approach and subsequent crash.[1][2]

[edit]The aircraft involved in the accident was an Antonov An-26B registered as SP-FDO, and manufactured in 1980. The aircraft was owned by the polish airline Exin and was operating the flight on behalf of DHL Aviation.[1][2][3]
Crew members
[edit]The aircraft had six crew members on board, two pilots, a navigator, an engineers and two DHL shippers. Five of the occupants were polish and one was dutch. The polish captain had a total of 4695 flight hours, of which 2295 on the An-26, while the first officer had 990 total flight hours, of which 495 on this type.[3][4]
