The European Correspondent (TEC) is a European-wide English-language online newsletter.[1], founded by Julius Fintelmann in November 2022 [2], and created by journalists from all over Europe [3][4]. Their goal is to create an independent medium, bringing topics from their respective regions, deemed relevant across the continent, and beyond the typical Brussels political news. They are a member of GFMD[5].
In 2023, TEC won the European Charlemagne Youth Prize [6].
Initially, they struggled with finances, asking their readers for regular donations, but in 2024 they managed to secure 2 million Euros of funding from the EU [7][8][9]
