Having become known through his activity on social media, in 2026 he gained increasing public exposure for his participation in political initiatives and for his positions on immigration, security, national identity and Islam. He was initially associated with the Lega and later joined Futuro Nazionale, a political movement led by Roberto Vannacci.[5]

Political activity

[edit]

Venturelli began his political activity within the Italian right-wing political sphere, taking part in political initiatives in Emilia-Romagna. He subsequently joined the Lega, from which he was removed in July 2026.[6][7]

Later that same year, he joined Futuro Nazionale, becoming publicly involved in activities associated with the movement. His political activity developed alongside his presence on social media, where he uses the name Eterno.[8][9][10]

Controversies

[edit]

In June 2026, Venturelli was involved in an altercation in central Parma following a confrontation with a group of young men. The incident was preceded by a discussion recorded on video and subsequently circulated online. The incident later resulted in mutual complaints.[11][12][13][14]

On 8 August 2026, he took part in a demonstration in Bologna in support of law enforcement. During the demonstration, he publicly commented on the death of Abderrahim Fakir, which had occurred the previous month during a police intervention. His statements prompted public distancing from members of the Lega. The episode subsequently appeared in a parliamentary inquiry submitted to the Italian Senate.[15][16][17][18][19][20]

On 12 September 2026, he published a video on his social media accounts in which he tore up and burned a copy of the Quran. The action provoked political reactions and a public distancing by Futuro Nazionale, which stated that Venturelli had acted in a personal capacity.[21][22][23][24]

In the following days, he was summoned to the Reggio Emilia Police Headquarters in connection with the incident.[25][26]

In September 2026, Eterno was involved, together with Simone Carabella, in a series of public initiatives concerning Islam and immigration. On 24 September, he attended, alongside Carabella and other influencers, a meeting at the headquarters of Municipality Roma V, where a motion concerning the fight against Islamophobia and anti-Muslim racism was being discussed. Their participation had previously been promoted through social media, with an appeal to their followers to attend the municipal meeting. During the session, Carabella challenged the motion and addressed councillor Filippo Riniolo with remarks concerning his physical appearance. The group was subsequently confronted by other attendees and left the building before the meeting concluded. The episode was described as a “blitz” by the influencers against the motion.[27]

Earlier that month, Eterno had organized and promoted a demonstration in Venice in support of Carabella, who had been issued a six-month exclusion order from the city following an incident at Piraghetto Park in Mestre during an Islamic prayer. The demonstration was announced for 22 September and was intended to involve Eterno’s supporters and other activists. The Venice police authorities subsequently summoned Venturelli and informed him that, in light of the tensions that had occurred in the preceding days, the demonstration could not take place as originally planned for public-order reasons. The authorities therefore prevented the planned demonstration from taking place.[28][29]

The demonstration promoted by Eterno consequently did not take place on 22 September in the form originally announced. On the same day, Piraghetto Park hosted a neighbourhood dinner organized by local associations and community groups in memory of Giacomo “Jack” Gobbato, while a separate sit-in planned at the same location was also denied authorization by the police.[30][31][32]
